Surface Fault Rupture Hazard Assessment – National Outline Plan 75 (Israel Land Authority)

A comprehensive geological and geophysical investigation was conducted to assess the risk of surface fault displacement along a segment of the Carmel Fault as part of the evaluation of alternative sites for a strategic fuel storage and distribution facility in northern Israel. The study included a review of existing geological data and literature, detailed geological mapping, analysis of aerial imagery and LiDAR data, geophysical surveys, and geodetic measurements. The findings were used to accurately delineate active fault zones, define construction setback areas, and evaluate site suitability for critical infrastructure in accordance with Israeli Standard 413 and the guidelines of the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
